When Andrew Sterling, a successful Black writer, buys a vacation home, local police mistake him for a burglar. After a botched intervention, police chief Cecil Tolliver tries to cover his tracks by hiring Amos Odell, a thief he previously put away, to kidnap Andrew and demand a ransom. Amos is unaware that he is being manipulated and that both his and Andrew's lives are in danger, forcing the two men to team up to survive the killers on their trail. This action-comedy, directed by E. Max Frye, features Nicolas Cage and Samuel L. Jackson in a high-stakes, humorous adventure.
