Based on Jan Guillou's best-selling novel, Arn: The Knight Templar follows Arn Magnusson, who is born in 1150 in West Götaland and educated in a monastery. After falling in love with Cecilia, they become victims of the conflict between spiritual and temporal power; Cecilia is imprisoned in a convent while Arn is sent to the Holy Land as a Templar Knight. Upon his return, he must fight for his love and his life's goal: to unite Sweden into one kingdom.
