Synopsis of Dark Ocean - Eine Reise in den Tod

Proxate City, a large economic empire, is to be admitted as a nation-state to the UN at the end of the third millennium. The future president, Manx Clifton, and her assistant, Martine Quiller, attempt to cover up Proxate's criminal past and dispose of illegal products, such as biochemical weapons and a cybernetic killing machine. To this end, they charter an old freighter, the "Lilith", and hire a convicted captain and a dubious crew, partly consisting of convicts. The voyage is overseen by Tarkis, an intelligence agent from Proxate City. When, at the last moment, bombs are prevented from blowing up the ship and the mysterious cargo is discovered, the entire crew fights desperately for survival, as Quiller's deadly plan is to sink the ship along with the crew and the deadly cargo into the sea.
