«Detenido en espera de juicio» is the movie by Nanni Loy (1971), starring Alberto Sordi, Elga Andersen and Andrea Aureli, on DVD.
An Italian surveyor living in Sweden returns to Italy on vacation and is detained at the border without anyone explaining why. The initial administrative error turns into a long pilgrimage through the Italian judicial and prison system, where bureaucracy crushes the individual. Nanni Loy combines drama and social satire to show the helplessness of an ordinary citizen before a Kafkaesque machine.
The DVD edition presents color image, widescreen format 1.85:1 and audio in Italian and Spanish in Dolby Digital 2.0, with Spanish subtitles. Duration: 97 minutes.
For lovers of Italian social-issue cinema and the combative side of Alberto Sordi.
