During World War II, in 1943, the British army faces the strategic necessity of landing in Sicily, a territory heavily defended by German forces. To avoid a massacre, the Allied command devises an ingenious deception plan: to convince the enemy that the landing will take place elsewhere, forcing the German troops to relocate. Commander Ewen Montagu is tasked with leading Operation Mincemeat, which involves planting a corpse on the Spanish coast of Huelva as part of a complex counterintelligence maneuver. Directed by Ronald Neame and starring Clifton Webb, Gloria Grahame, and Stephen Boyd, this film is a classic of war cinema. It won the BAFTA Award for Best British Screenplay in 1957 and was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1956.
