During World War II, British soldier Jack Celliers arrives at a Japanese prisoner camp. The camp commander firmly believes in values such as discipline, honor, and glory, considering the allied soldiers as cowards for surrendering instead of committing suicide. One of the prisoners tries to explain the Japanese way of thinking to his companions but is considered a traitor. This film explores the cultural clash and internal conflicts in a war environment.
