«Henry V» is the 1989 film by Kenneth Branagh, starring Kenneth Branagh, Derek Jacobi and Emma Thompson, on DVD.
Adaptation of Shakespeare's play that follows the young King Henry V of England from his accession to the throne to his military campaign in France during the Hundred Years' War. The film, directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh, shows the siege of Harfleur and the Battle of Agincourt with a somber, anti-war tone, without idealizing war.
The DVD edition is Region 2. The disc includes Hungarian dubbing and subtitles, and also offers English audio and subtitles. It won the Oscar for Best Costume Design (Phyllis Dalton, 1990).
Recommended for fans of Shakespeare and historical cinema who prefer a realistic, unflinching view of war.
