Synopsis of Jerry Springer: The Opera

«Jerry Springer: The Opera» is the 2005 musical movie by Stewart Lee, starring David Soul and David Bedella, on DVD.

Filmed version of the performances at the Cambridge Theatre in the West End. The musical turns Jerry Springer's talk show format into an operatic spectacle: over one recording day, guests' conflicts and confessions unfold with choruses, explicit humor and staging that blends popular culture with the great theatrical tradition.

British DVD edition, region 2 (PAL), 120 minutes, in English Dolby Digital 5.1 with English subtitles. Winner of four Best Musical awards and three Olivier Awards; rated 18 by the BBFC.

For adults who enjoy satirical musical theater and on-stage provocation; contains very strong language and explicit sexual references.
