«Susana, carne y demonio» is the movie by Luis Buñuel (1951), starring Fernando Soler, Rosita Quintana and Víctor Manuel Mendoza, on DVD.
After fifteen years locked in a reformatory, Susana escapes and arrives at Don Guadalupe's ranch, where she is taken in as another member. Her beauty and false innocence unleash temptation in the house: the landowner's son, Alberto, the foreman Jesús and Don Guadalupe himself are swept up by passion, and the peace of that Catholic family cracks.
Mexican black-and-white film, produced by Internacional Cinematográfica, S.A. and nominated for the Ariel for Best Youth Performance.
Suitable for all audiences; a work of Mexican cinema for those who want to see Buñuel in a melodramatic register.
