Synopsis of Unter Schnee
En la región japonesa de Echigo, la nieve cubre el paisaje y los pueblos durante gran parte del año, alcanzando varios metros de altura. La cineasta Ulrike Ottinger se adentra en este mítico país de nieve acompañada por dos actores de Kabuki que, siguiendo los pasos del escritor Bokushi Suzuki del siglo XIX, experimentan una transformación milagrosa mientras viajan a través del tiempo entre el pasado y el presente. Esta obra combina elementos del teatro Kabuki, la poesía y la realidad cotidiana de los habitantes de Echigo, todo ello realzado por la música de Yumiko Tanaka.
