Police officer Edward Malus (Nicolas Cage) is called to the remote island of Summersisle to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a young girl named Rowan. Upon arrival, he encounters a secretive community that appears to practice pre-Christian pagan cults and denies that the girl ever lived there. As he delves deeper, Edward begins to suspect that the child may have been a human sacrifice to pagan gods, drawing him into a dangerous web of occult practices and ancient traditions.
