«Africa» is a various-artists compilation, released in 1997 by Label Bleu on CD.
The album brings together eighteen tracks of African music chosen by Christian Mousset and traces a sonic journey from the Mediterranean to Johannesburg. Tradition and modernity coexist, with pieces such as «Mansa» by Super Rail Band, «Tontobane» by Yusi Mahlaseka and «Laduma» by Mbongeni Ngema, among rhythms designed for dancing and listening.
The release belongs to Label Bleu's Indigo collection, catalogue number LBLC 2542, with 18 tracks.
For listeners of traditional and world music who want a representative sample of African sounds.
