«Ballad of a Gunfighter» is the original soundtrack of the eponymous western movie, released in 2023 by Citadel / Bsx Records on CD.
The soundtrack evokes the twilight West with instrumental pieces that call to mind duels in the blazing sun, desert landscapes and the lone figure of the gunslinger. The title track, composed and performed by Johnny Rivers, provides the vocal counterpoint to a score of restrained tension and cinematic flair.
The cover features credits for Francis Ford Coppola, catalogue number STC 77119 and the silhouette of a gunslinger before a lit doorway; the CD contains a single disc.
For fans of western movie soundtracks and the music of Johnny Rivers.
