«Soy Cubanito» is the debut album by Cuban group Cubanito 20.02, released in 2003 by Lusafrica on CD.
Cubanito 20.02 moved from underground hip hop to reggaeton and Latin urban music, a transition that marked the Havana scene. «Matame» was the group's first big hit, and «Soy Cubanito» asserts the trio's rap roots. The album mixes rap, reggae and Caribbean sounds across 12 tracks.
The group formed in 2002 and consists of Haniel González Martínez (Flipper), Javier Durán Webb (El Doctor) and José Ángel Sastre Pérez (White), former members of Primera Base.
Will appeal to listeners of reggaeton and 2000s Cuban music, as well as those following the evolution of Havana hip hop.
