«Time Was - Time Is» is the album by Ray Barretto, released in 2005 by O+ Music on CD.
The album returns latin jazz to its roots with a contemporary language: Ray Barretto and his septet renew the fertile dialogue between New York and the Caribbean in pieces that mix jazz and Afro-Latin rhythms, such as «Motherless Child», «Palladium Nights» and «One for Ray».
The CD brings together ten tracks, with Joe Magnarelli (trumpet), Myron Walden (alto sax) and Bobby Sanabria (percussion) among the musicians. Distributed by Harmonia Mundi.
For fans of Latin and Afro-Cuban jazz and those who follow the career of Ray Barretto, a legendary figure in Afro-Latin music.
