«Winter Hours» is the debut album by American metal band Tombs, released in 2009 by Relapse Records on CD.
The album immerses the listener in a dense, oppressive soundscape. Tombs alternates the fury of death metal and hardcore with slow passages and doom and black metal atmospheres. The recording, about 37 minutes long, maintains constant tension and a raw finish, very close to the underground scene.
Original release date: February 17, 2009. The lyrics are in English and the album falls within extreme metal.
Aimed at fans of experimental and atmospheric metal, with a special interest in the late-2000s underground scene.
