El barbero de Sevilla es una comedia en cuatro actos del dramaturgo francés Pierre Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais, estrenada en 1775. La obra narra las peripecias del conde de Almaviva para conquistar a Rosina, una joven pupila del doctor Bartolo, quien también la pretende. Con la ayuda del astuto barbero Fígaro, Almaviva se disfraza y utiliza ingeniosos planes para burlar a Bartolo y cortejar a Rosina.
