«Biografía para encontrarme» is a poetry collection by Uruguayan writer Mario Benedetti, published by Punto de Lectura in paperback (112 pages, in Spanish).
In his last two years of life, Benedetti left corrected, rewritten, and ordered the sixty-two poems of this volume, and delivered the selection to his editors. It is Benedetti's most intimate poetry: verses evoking the sea, the uncertain dawn, and universal melancholy, with motifs such as solitude, nostalgia, death, love, beauty, and uprootedness.
The book belongs to the Formato Grande collection from Punto de Lectura and was published on May 8, 2012.
A volume for adults, suitable both for those approaching Mario Benedetti for the first time and for his regular readers.
Mario Benedetti Farrugia, was a Uruguayan journalist, novelist, and poet and an integral member of the Generación del 45. Despite publishing more than 80 books and being published in twenty languages, he was not well known in the English-speaking world. In the Spanish-speaking world, he is considered one of Latin America's most important writers of the latter half of the 20th century.
