«Carrington» is Michael Holroyd's biography of Dora Carrington and Lytton Strachey, published by Ediciones B in paperback (603 pages, in Spanish).
The biography reconstructs the relationship between the painter Dora Carrington and the writer Lytton Strachey, one of the most singular couples of the Bloomsbury Group. Holroyd narrates their lives and those of the people around them, such as Virginia Woolf or Gerald Brenan, and portrays the intellectual atmosphere of early 20th-century England, where Victorian norms were challenged.
Work originally published as 'Lytton Strachey: The New Biography' (1994), winner of the Prix du Meilleur Livre Étranger 1996 and basis of the movie 'Carrington', starring Emma Thompson and Jonathan Pryce.
Recommended for readers interested in cultural history, the Bloomsbury Group and biographies of artists and writers.
