The final installment of the successful dystopian series 'Unwind' by Neal Shusterman, 'Connection' presents us with an unexpected and disturbing plot. Proactive Citizenship, responsible for creating Cam from organs of disconnected teenagers, has dark military plans for him. However, an even greater horror is revealed: the company has been suppressing technology that could completely eliminate the need for disconnection. As Connor, Risa, and Lev discover these secrets, the young people rise up in protest, demanding justice and a better future. But new problems arise with the group of 'stork children' led by Starkey, which becomes more powerful and combative, threatening to destroy the harvesters and put adults before a firing squad, jeopardizing any possibility of a peaceful future.
Neal Shusterman is an American writer of young adult fiction. He won the 2015 National Book Award for Young People's Literature for his book Challenger Deep and his novel, Scythe, was a 2017 Michael L. Printz Honor book.
