«De la Tierra a la Luna» is the science fiction novel by Julio Verne, published by Ediciones Nobel in paperback (222 pages, in Spanish).
The Baltimore Gun Club, an association of artillerymen, drives an outrageous project: building a colossal cannon to launch a manned projectile towards the Moon. Verne combines satire of American society of his time with almost scientific reasoning about the technical difficulties of space travel.
First installment of the Baltimore Gun Club series, continued in the novel 'Alrededor de la Luna'. Work originally published in 1865.
For those interested in 19th-century scientific anticipation novels and the pioneering work of Julio Verne.
