Der aufhaltsame Aufstieg des Arturo Ui es una obra de teatro de 1941 del dramaturgo alemán Bertolt Brecht. Narra el ascenso de Arturo Ui, un mafioso ficticio de Chicago en la década de 1930, y sus intentos de controlar el negocio de la coliflor eliminando sin piedad a la oposición. La obra es una alegoría satírica del ascenso de Adolf Hitler y el Partido Nazi en Alemania antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. La decisión de Brecht de enmarcar el ascenso de Hitler como la historia de Al Capone en la época de la Ley Seca en Chicago fue un intento de proporcionar un entorno familiar al público estadounidense. La obra fue concebida para el escenario estadounidense como una advertencia contra los peligros del fascismo.

Eugen Berthold Friedrich Brecht, known as Bertolt Brecht and Bert Brecht, was a German theatre practitioner, playwright, and poet. Coming of age during the Weimar Republic, he had his first successes as a playwright in Munich and moved to Berlin in 1924, where he wrote The Threepenny Opera with Elisabeth Hauptmann and Kurt Weill and began a lifelong collaboration with the composer Hanns Eisler. Immersed in Marxist thought during this period, Brecht wrote didactic Lehrstücke and became a leading theoretician of epic theatre and the Verfremdungseffekt.
