«Diario de un jubilado» is the novel by Miguel Delibes published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover, with 164 pages, in Spanish.
After retiring, Lorenzo starts a diary in which he recounts his new daily life: games with friends, television programs and small domestic tensions. With a colloquial and close tone, Delibes portrays old age, routine and the consumer society of the end of the century, with an ironic gaze and a certain nostalgia.
«Diario de un jubilado» takes up Lorenzo, protagonist of Diario de un cazador and Diario de un emigrante.
For readers of contemporary Spanish fiction and followers of Miguel Delibes's work.
