«Diario de un rebelde» is Jim Carroll's autobiographical novel, published in 1996 by Ediciones B in hardcover (235 pages, in Spanish).
The author narrates in the first person his adolescence on the streets of New York: school, basketball and the first excesses, until heroin settles into his life and leads him to prostitution and the loss of innocence. The account, written as a diary, shows a young man's descent into self-destruction with a direct and uncompromising voice.
The cover features the subtitle The Basketball Diaries and the name Leonardo DiCaprio.
