«Du domaine des Murmures» is the historical novel by Carole Martinez, published by France Loisirs in paperback (200 pages, in French).
In 1187, Esclarmonde, daughter of the lord of Hautepierre, chooses not to marry and to wall herself up in a cell to devote herself to God. From her confinement, her words and visions make her a sacred figure of the domain of Murmures, where the mystical blends with the fate of its inhabitants and medieval passions.
Awarded the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens in 2011, the work appeared in this French edition in 2012.
Recommended for readers of historical fiction and French literature, with a female protagonist and a mystical atmosphere.
