«El escudo arverno» is the adventure comic by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, published by Grijalbo/Dargaud in hardcover (48 pages, in Spanish).
Asterix and Obelix set off in search of an Arvernian shield, an emblem whose discovery would boost the morale of the Gauls against the Romans. The adventure takes place in and around Gergovia, with the usual dose of misunderstandings, action and nods to ancient history that characterizes the series.
It is the eleventh volume in the Asterix series; its original French title is «Le bouclier Arverne».
Recommended reading from age 14; intended for those who enjoy the adventures of Asterix and classic humorous comics.
