«El florido pensil» is the historical essay by Andrés Sopeña Monsalve, published by Crítica in hardcover (244 pages, in Spanish).
Andrés Sopeña Monsalve reconstructs how several generations of Spaniards were educated during the postwar period under National Catholicism. His narrative, close to memoir and essay, portrays a disciplinary and indoctrinating school system, and proposes embracing that heritage without complexes and learning to laugh at it.
Corresponds to the second edition, published in 1994, with the subtitle «Memoria de la escuela nacionalcatólica».
A work for those interested in the history of education in Spain, the postwar period and National Catholicism, as well as historical memory.
