In 1775 New York, young physician John Tonneman returns to take over his late father's practice. Several women are found decapitated, and when one of the victims is his housekeeper, he sets out to hunt the killer. His investigation coincides with the unrest before the War of Independence and with a love that gives him respite.
Second installment in the El holandés series; originally published as The Kingsbridge Plot in 1993.
A read for fans of mystery and period fiction set in pre-independence North America.
