Synopsis of En sorts kärlek

«En sorts kärlek» is the contemporary fiction novel by Ray Kluun, published by Månpocket in paperback (368 pages, in Swedish).

Dan and Carmen have almost everything, including a three-year-old daughter, until Carmen is diagnosed with breast cancer. Dan cannot cope with the illness and flees to his friends and adventures, while Carmen undergoes chemotherapy and a mastectomy. It is a raw and unsentimental portrait of death, pain, and the true meaning of commitment.

Originally published in 2003 in Dutch as «Komt een vrouw bij de dokter», translated by Birgit Lönn; won the Publieksprijs voor het Nederlandse Boek in 2006.
