«Entre el roig i el negre» is the novel by Miquel Mir Serra, published by Edicions 62 in paperback (240 pages, in Catalan).
The narrative begins with the discovery of diaries that recount the adventures of Josep, an anarchist gunman of the FAI during the Spanish Civil War, and the memories of Maurici, a fourteen-year-old boy who witnessed them. It thus reconstructs the violence, plunder and misery in Barcelona at the time, from the burning of churches to the protagonist's exile in London.
Published in 2006 in the El Balancí collection (537), it bears the subtitle «Una crònica de la revolució anarquista».
For readers interested in the Spanish Civil War, the history of anarchism and Barcelona in the 1930s.
