«España invertebrada» is a historical-philosophical essay by José Ortega y Gasset, published by Espasa in paperback (160 pages, in Spanish).
In this essay, Ortega y Gasset analyzes Spain's situation in the European context of his time. He argues that the country suffers from a lack of social cohesion and the absence of a clear national project; he reviews Spain's history to explain this situation and proposes ways to overcome the crisis and build a collective future.
Work first published in 1921. This third edition from Espasa-Calpe (1972) belongs to the Colección Austral and includes the subtitle «Bosquejo de algunos pensamientos históricos».
Aimed at readers of philosophy, history and Spanish political thought; a classic work that remains a reference in the debate on Spain.
