«Hachiko. El perro que esperaba» is the children's and young adult novel by Luis Prats, published by La Galera in paperback (136 pages, in Spanish).
Professor Ueno adopts a puppy to cheer up his daughter, though the strongest bond forms between him and the dog. Hachiko accompanies him every morning to the station and returns every afternoon to wait for him, with a steadfastness that turns routine into an example of loyalty and unconditional friendship.
It belongs to the Grumetes collection (no. 123), with illustrations by Zuzanna Celej. Winner of the Josep M. Folch i Torres Prize 2014 and the Strega Ragazzi Prize 2018.
A recommended read for children and young people aged 8 and up, especially for dog lovers and fans of true stories.
