«Historia judía, religión judía: el peso de tres mil años» is the essay by Israel Shahak, published by Círculo de Lectores in paperback (224 pages).
Israel Shahak, a Holocaust survivor, critically analyzes Orthodox Judaism and its legal interpretations: prejudices, the weight of history, and laws concerning non-Jews. The work examines the political consequences of these doctrines in Israel and the Middle East conflict, from a humanitarian and controversial perspective.
Translation by Juan Aranzadi and Celia Montolío. The work is divided into chapters such as «Historia. ¿Una utopía cerrada?», «Ortodoxia e interpretación» and «Las leyes contra los no judíos».
A reference work for those studying Judaism, Zionism, and the Arab-Israeli conflict from a critical perspective.
