Jack Cooper, the last fisherman of his line, lives alone in Greyshore, a coastal town, and still carries a grief. When a spectral woman draws him toward the sea, his friend Red tries to save him. An illustrated tale blending folklore, humor and visual poetry to speak of love, loss and the strength of life.
Collaboration between two Minnesota musicians: Chan Poling, founder of The Suburbs, writes the text; Lucy Michell, musician and illustrator, creates the images. Published in 2019.
Recommended for adults who appreciate illustrated books with a gothic atmosphere, ghost stories and poetic reflections on grief.
