«Jarrones Chinos» is Andrea Canobbio's short story collection, published by Circe in paperback (154 pages, in Spanish).
The book brings together twelve stories featuring Claudio, a man who escapes reality through games of provocation and rejection. Claudio observes and is observed, loves and is loved, dies and is reborn, and always prepares his encounters with the reader like a strategist. The work plays with representation and with the boundary between the real and the fraudulent.
The original title is «Vasi cinesi» and the translation is by Mercedes de Corral. The book won the Premio Mondello Opera Prima in 1990 and was a finalist for the Premio Bergamo.
Recommended for readers of contemporary Italian fiction interested in stories that play with identity and the boundary between reality and fiction.
