Synopsis of Khol

«Khol: Gilgamesh y la muerte» is the novel by José Ortega Ortega, published by Editorial Fundamentos in paperback (384 pages, in Spanish).

It recreates the ancient epic of Gilgamesh and reinterprets its central ideas, especially the search for immortality. The author presents the story as a supposed anonymous original: in Águilas, a coastal town in Murcia, a mysterious character linked to that story was buried, whose remains would have been exhumed in excavations.

First installment of the Khol trilogy, a heroic, magical and religious saga. Published in 1995, it is part of the Narrativa Española collection.
