Koba the Dread is a memoir, a chronicle, and a meditation on Stalin and his legacy, written by Martin Amis. The author explores the tolerance of Western intellectuals towards communism, analyzing the connections between his father, Kingsley Amis, and the Sovietologist Robert Conquest. Amis reflects on the nature of death and statistics, using the figure of Stalin as the central axis of his analysis. This book is a refutation of Stalin's aphorism about death.
