«La cena secreta» is the mystery novel by Javier Sierra, published by Plaza & Janés in hardcover, with 360 pages and text in Spanish.
In Lombardy in 1497, Leonardo da Vinci is putting the finishing touches to his mural of the Last Supper when anonymous letters arrive in Rome: the scene supposedly conceals blasphemous messages, heresies and a self-portrait of the painter. The Dominican friar Agustín Leyre, an inquisitor and expert in coded messages, travels to Milan to examine the work and discover what lies behind the accusations.
The book was a finalist for the III Premio de Novela Ciudad de Torrevieja 2004 and is part of the Éxitos collection from Plaza & Janés.
For readers of historical and mystery fiction, with an interest in the Italian Renaissance, painting and religious enigmas.
Javier Sierra Albert is a journalist, writer and researcher who studied journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid.
