«La Venus del espejo» is the crime novel by Thomas Hoving, published by Espasa Calpe in paperback (397 pages, in Spanish).
The action takes place in the international world of painting: a work related to the painting that gives the novel its title becomes the center of an investigation, and speculation around works of art draws a critique of the market.
The Spanish edition, translated by Maribel de Juan, belongs to the Calpe narrativa collection. The original title of the work is «Masterpiece».
For readers of crime fiction and contemporary fiction who enjoy plots in which art and investigation intersect.
Thomas Pearsall Field Hoving was an American museum executive and consultant and the director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
