«L'enfant vu par les peintres au XIXe siècle» is the catalog of the exhibition by Anne Galloyer, published by the Musée Fournaise.
The work accompanies the eponymous exhibition at the Musée Fournaise in Chatou and studies the image of childhood in nineteenth-century painting. It brings together a survey of portraits and period scenes to show how the nineteenth century shaped a modern view of children, to the point that the French word «bébé» became popular then.
The exhibition took place from May 1 to November 2, 2014, at the Musée Fournaise in Chatou.
