«Les secrets de l'Exode» is the historical essay by Messod Sabbah and Roger Sabbah, published by Le Grand livre du mois in paperback (557 pages, in French).
The work, the fruit of twenty years of research, argues that the Hebrews of the Exodus were Egyptian priests and dignitaries, followers of the monotheistic pharaoh Akhenaten, deported to Canaan after a counter-revolution. It links the Hebrew alphabet to hieroglyphic writing and biblical names to titles of Eighteenth Dynasty pharaohs.
Subtitled «L'origine égyptienne des Hébreux», the work was originally published in 2000; this French edition is from 2001.
It will appeal to fans of ancient history, Egyptology and heterodox readings of the Bible.
