Les yeux fumés

Synopsis of Les yeux fumés

Philippe lives in a housing project, spending his days drifting, drinking, and listening to the stories of his friend Bruno, a drifter who claims to have traveled the world. Surrounded by a dysfunctional family and a bleak environment, Philippe tries to ignore the daily violence until a tragic event shatters his fragile balance, triggering a ticking time bomb. This acclaimed noir novel by Nathalie Sauvagnac is a raw and moving portrait of marginalization, the loss of innocence, and the difficult transition to adulthood in the French periphery.
