«L'escuma dels dies» is the contemporary fiction novel by Boris Vian, published in 2002 by Columna CAT in paperback and in Catalan.
«L'escuma dels dies» narrates the love of Colin and Chloé in a dreamlike atmosphere (mice that tidy the kitchen, houses that shrink, water lilies on the young woman's chest) and blends satire of existentialism, criticism of religion and work, homage to silent movies and inventions such as the piano-bar or the heart-crusher.
«L'escuma dels dies» was originally published in 1947 as «L'Écume des jours»; the Catalan translation is by Jaume Fuster i Guillemó.
For readers of contemporary fiction and twentieth-century French literature who appreciate the fantastic and the critical.
Boris Vian was a French polymath who is primarily remembered for his novels. Those published under the pseudonym Vernon Sullivan were bizarre parodies of criminal fiction, highly controversial at the time of their release owing to their unconventional outlook.
