«Libro de las fundaciones» is the spiritual chronicle of Teresa de Jesús, published by Espasa-Calpe in paperback (296 pages, in Spanish).
In «Libro de las fundaciones», Teresa de Jesús narrates the journeys and efforts to found convents throughout Spain, with a portrait of daily and spiritual life in the sixteenth century. The chronicle combines that outward adventure with the author's inner life and turns the text into a window onto an era and a personal process of prayer and reform.
The 1991 edition of «Libro de las fundaciones», prepared by Víctor García de la Concha, was published in Madrid within the Colección Austral.
This book is suitable for those seeking the classics of spirituality in Spanish and a close view of sixteenth-century Spain.
