«L'Île-de-France de la préhistoire» is the archaeology guide by Christophe Sence, published by Parigramme in paperback (127 pages, in French).
17 itineraries through Île-de-France help locate nearly 200 megalithic monuments: menhirs, dolmens and polishers. The exact function of menhirs is unknown, but dolmens were collective burials. Remains found show their Neolithic builders were healthier than medieval people, tall and long-lived thanks to their medical skills.
Part of the Promenades en Île-de-France collection; the cover subtitle is Dolmens, menhirs et polissoirs.
For travelers and archaeology enthusiasts who want to explore the prehistoric remains of the Paris region.
