Los cielos de Curumo is the novel by Juan Carlos Chirinos, published by Editorial La Huerta Grande, S.L. in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).

The narrative interweaves the lives of five friends in urban Caracas, with constant rain, scavenger animals and the corroding evil as a backdrop. Chirinos portrays without concessions the signs of a country's decline that failed to see what was coming, with prose that is raw yet luminous and an analysis of power that does not shy away from sordidness. His mastery of language and narrative techniques recalls masters such as José Balza, the early Vargas Llosa, Céline, Faulkner or the Cepeda of La Casa Grande.
