«Los pueblos de España I» is an ethnographic study by Julio Caro Baroja, published by Istmo in paperback (428 pages, in Spanish).
It starts from the rich diversity of the peoples of the Iberian Peninsula, without falling into either folklorism or schematic ethnology, to investigate the historical and psychological origin of their communities. It analyzes how that base is projected onto social and spiritual life: folklore, family organization, customs, art and dress.
First edition published in 1995; part of the Fundamentos collection, no. 54, and includes 58 illustrations.
A work of interest to students and readers of anthropology, ethnography and the history of Spain.
