«Los Zamacois de Bilbao, una saga de artistas» is the essay by Javier Novo González, published by Bilbao Bizkaia Kutxa in paperback (186 pages).
The work reconstructs the history of the Zamacois, twenty siblings born in Bilbao between 1817 and 1847. Several of them, children of Miguel Zamacois and his two wives, triumphed in Lisbon, Paris, Madrid, New York, Mexico, Cuba and Peru through music, zarzuela, theater and painting.
The book was published in 2010 in the Temas Vizcaínos collection, numbers 418-419.
It will interest readers of Basque local history and those who want to learn about the international projection of nineteenth-century Bilbao artists.
