«Mac OS X for Java Geeks» is Will Iverson's technical guide to developing in Java on Mac OS X, published by O'Reilly in paperback (282 pages, in English).
The book explains how to leverage Mac OS X for Java programming: it reviews the environment (JRE, IDEs, Jakarta Ant), extensions such as the spelling and speech frameworks or QuickTime, and keeping applications portable across Windows, Linux, Unix, and Mac. It also covers Apache and Tomcat with JSP and servlets, databases, EJBs with JBoss, and XML-RPC and SOAP web services.
First edition, published in April 2003. Subtitle: «Cross-Platform Compatibility and Platform-Specific Functionality».
Aimed at Java developers using Mac OS X, both those new to the platform and programmers familiar with J2EE.
