«Martin de Tours» is the adventure comic by Pierre-Yves Proust, Francesca Martin and Frédéric Martin, published by Glénat in hardcover (French, 47 pages).
Catiano tells the story of his friend Martinus, tribune and son of a tribune, a soldier from the age of fifteen in the war against the Franks in Rhineland. When he abandons Emperor Caesar Julian to live his faith, Martinus clashes with bishops who seek only power and wealth; his journey, full of heroic deeds and twists, turns this saint's life into an adventure.
The comic was created by a team of authors from Tours on the occasion of a papal visit to the city; the original edition dates from 1996.
For readers of adventure comics interested in the story of Saint Martin of Tours and in the intersection between hagiography and fiction.
